some bullshit about gay marriage and gillard

Writing a tumblr post about gay marriage may be the most redundant thing of all time because basically everyone on tumblr supports gay marriage. Right? Imagine using tumblr and being against gay marriage in 2011. What the actual fuck. So yeah, this is mostly about wtf are you doing Gillard and the fact I haven’t written anything besides fucking ad copy for a month pretty much.

Firstly Gillard, I don’t even believe you’re against gay marriage. If you were against it, cool fine (not fine), you’re entitled to stick by your beliefs but the thing is, you’re not against this. If you weren’t the Prime Minister, if you weren’t vying to win the next election, then you would be supporting gay marriage; as the majority of your party seems to. Probably. I mean, I don’t know! This whole issue is the ridiculous.

Gillard! You’re driving me crazy! What even is your stance? Your not against gay marriage except that… you are? You’re allowing others to make up your mind for you and your pandering to homophobic voters. Fuck’s sake. Everyone knows politics is gross and basically void of any real aspiration (probably) but gross; gay marriage should not be an issue. We should get to stop talking about it. You should take some proper action, change the marriage act, see a minority celebrate a final step towards equality and sit back and watch as same sex marriage becomes accepted and nothing else fucking happens. Really, after the first few weeks of adorable photos of queers getting their marriage on the country is going to go back normal, people who were against gay marriage are going to forget they were against it and the people for it will attend marriages of their queer friends and relatives. Or maybe they’ll even get married to their same sex partners.

So pretty much shut up, Gillard. If you’re not going to do anything then stop pretending you care. You can’t pander to both sides of this argument because one side is rational and striving for equality, while another is bigoted and misguided. If Gillard was reading this (she never would obviously) I’d tell her to woman up (cool saying) and stand up for what she knows is right. I’m not going to change her mind about gay marriage being okay, because she already knows it is.
